A Dandrige, Tennessee-based historian and artifact collector and seller, Chase Pipes studied history at Carson Newman College and subsequently launched Smoky Mountain Relic Room. Serving as co-owner of the historical artifacts wholesale store, Chase Pipes travels around the United States to secure fossils, meteorites, crystals, and minerals, among other uncovered items. He performs historical preservation on these pieces and sells them at his store in Sevierville or through various online platforms. He also attends trade shows.

Some of the items that Chase Pipes has preserved and put up for sale at Smoky Mountain Relic Room include antique singing bowls, metaphysical crystals, dinosaur fossils, crystalized petrified wood, and military artifacts. In addition to selling these and other items, he hosts Chasing History on YouTube. He highlights his process for securing historical artifacts and the people behind the discoveries. He also hosts a radio show and writes a monthly article for the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Chase Pipes is a former president of the Smoky Mountain Historical Society and a Central States Archaeological Society member. In addition, he often volunteers as a living historian guide at state parks in Tennessee and Virginia.
